Of course, there are people who aren’t with us today, who are greatly missed. Linda’s father Alan should, of course, have been making this speech today. How proud he would have been of his daughter looking so radiant and joyful. Linda, is a great credit to him today and we are sure he is watching over us with happiness on her special day. May I propose a toast to absent friends.

We, my wife and I, are delighted to welcome you all as our guests. Especially Paul’s mother and father, as well as those who have travelled a long way to be here. Thank you for honouring us with your company. And, of course, we remember, with love, those not able to be with us today.
